Foreword

This Code is developed jointly by Zhenhai Petrochemical Engineering Co.，Ltd.and other related organizations under the coordination from China Petrochemical Corporation（Sinopec Group）based on the requirements of Document（Jian Biao［2005］No.124）issued by the Ministry of Construction（MOC）-Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards（2nd Group）in 2005.

In preparing this Code，the development team made special studies，carried out extensive investigations，summarized the practices in engineering design，construction，operation and maintenance of petrochemical warehouses in the past decades in China，adapted to the need of reform in engineering design of petrochemical plants and large scale production，requested and consolidated comments from engineering design，construction and management，discussed the main issues and concerns focused，and reviewed and finalized.

This Code comprises 11 chapters and 7 appendixes，and mainly includes the following:general provisions，terms，classification of warehouses and laydown areas，general layout and vertical arrangement，storage process，period of storage，architectural design，laydown areas，control and management，storage machinery and HSE，etc.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory and must be enforced strictly.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China is in charge of administration of this Code and explanation of its compulsory provisions，China Petrochemical Corporation（Sinopec Group）is responsible for its routine management，and Zhenhai Petrochemical Engineering Co.，Ltd.is tasked for explanation of specific technical contents.All relevant organizations are kindly requested to sum up your experiences in actual practices and collect data and information during the process of implementing this Code.Any opinions and advices can be addressed to Zhenhai Petrochemical Engineering Co.，Ltd.（Address:Jiaochuan Street，Zhenhai District，Ningbo，Zhejiang Province，P.R.China，Post Code:315207）for reference in future revision.
